Hotel Waiter (Buffet/Bar) – Athens
We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented hotel waiter with expertise in buffet and bar service to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a hotel waiter, you will be responsible for providing guests with a memorable dining experience through attentive service and ensuring that buffet and bar areas are well-maintained and stocked.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
- Provide menus and offer recommendations on food and beverage selections.
- Take accurate orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff promptly.
- Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.
- Monitor buffet stations, replenishing items as needed to maintain freshness and attractiveness.
- Prepare and serve drinks from the bar, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately, processing payments and issuing receipts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining, buffet, and bar areas, including clearing tables and resetting them for the next guests.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Assist in stocking inventory, including beverages, condiments, and utensils.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, striving to resolve any issues to their satisfaction.
- Collaborate effectively with other staff members to ensure smooth service operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a waiter/waitress or in a similar customer service role, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of buffet service and bar operations, including mixing drinks and handling beverage orders
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact comfortably with guests from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure, maintaining a positive attitude
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Basic math skills for processing payments and handling cash transactions
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in hospitality or food service is a plus.
